Is a Stay Play Explore ticket purchased before 1st June 2009 still valid?

Any Stay Play Explore ticket purchased before 1st June 2009 from any of the attractions, hotels or Leicester tourist information centre is no longer valid after this date. These tickets cannot be exchanged, extended or refunded in any circumstances and will not be accepted for entry in to any of the participating Stay Play Explore attractions.

How can I buy new Stay Play Explore tickets?

You can buy Stay Play Explore tickets in the follow ways…

  1. Online from the eShop at GoLeicestershire.com – Click here. A small postage charge will apply.
  2. Over the phone by calling 0116 2582158 (Mon-Fri, 10am-5pm). A small postage charge will apply.
  3. They can be purchased direct from each of the Stay Play Explore attractions.
  4. They can be purchased direct from the Leicester Tourist Information Centre.

How much are Stay Play Explore tickets?

Individual SPE tickets are:

£60 Family ticket (2adults/2children aged 3-16 years)
£24 adult ticket (17 years over)
£12 child ticket (3-16 years)

Although prices have increased from last year; each family ticket makes a saving of up to 60% on all 3 attraction entry fees. If a family ticket is purchased in conjunction with hotel accommodation as a package, then the ticket will be charged at just £50.

What’s included in a Stay Play Explore short break?

Hotel packages inc. one Stay Play Explore family ticket and overnight accommodation with breakfast for a family of four. Each package can be booked online or direct with the hotel.

How many times can a ticket be used?

Each attraction may only be visited once and your ticket must be stamped with the according ticket stub removed and retained by each attraction visited to gain valid attraction entry tickets. Please note that entry will be refused unless the corresponding sections of the ticket (main ticket and stubs) are presented together.

How long do I have to use the tickets?

Every SPE ticket is valid until 31st December 2010. Tickets will not be extended or exchanged or refunded beyond this date.

Are there any days when tickets cannot be used?

Stay Play Explore tickets are not valid on the following occasions at attractions:

  • Conkers - Not valid on Bank Holidays
  • National Space Centre – Not valid on premium event days
  • Snibston - Not valid on special event days
  • Twycross Zoo - Not valid on Bank Holidays
  • Bosworth Battlefield – Not valid on August Anniversary battle re-enactment 2009 and 2010. Closed January.

What if I lose my ticket?

Please keep your tickets with the according stubs safe as Leicester Shire promotions or the attractions and hotels participating in this promotion cannot replace lost/misplaced/stolen tickets. If ticket stubs detach or become loose or detached, each of the attractions can only accept these with the corresponding sections of the complete ticket. If an incomplete ticket is presented to the attractions, they reserve the right to refuse entry and this will result in a charge of the “on the day” admission rate applicable to the relevant Attraction, which will be non-refundable.
Upgrading tickets

All standard participating attraction tickets can be upgraded to Stay Play Explore tickets on the day of visit only, participating attractions or hotels will not be able to upgrade any tickets after any visit.

Complaints

All complaints must be submitted in writing to Leicester Shire Promotions where complaints will be investigated by an appropriate person. They will receive an acknowledgment in writing within five working days. We aim to fully reply within 10 working days. If a full response cannot be issued within this timescale we will contact them to confirm:

  • Who is dealing with the complaint
  • The reason for any delay
  • How long it will be before a full reply will be issued

If we have made a mistake we will apologise and take any corrective action we can. We monitor and report on the complaints we have received. We try to learn from them to improve our processes and intend also that our complaints handling process reflects best practice and opportunities for learning.

Refunds and replacement tickets:

Refunds are not available in any circumstances in whole or part. A Stay Play Explore ticket will not be refunded in whole or part if any of the Attractions are no longer available or if any or part of the Attractions is removed or closed during the year.

We cannot refund or replace tickets for the reason of adverse weather conditions.

If a Stay Play Explore ticket is issued in error (for example, a Child ticket is issued instead of a Family ticket) Please contact the information line on 0116 258 2158 (10am – 5pm Monday to Friday) or email ticket@stayplayexplore.co.uk for further information.

Can I use special offers, Tesco Clubcard Deal vouchers or discounts to buy a Stay Play Explore ticket?

Stay Play Explore tickets cannot be sold in conjunction with any other special offer voucher or promotion. Neither the attractions, hotels will accept discount codes, vouchers or offers towards purchase of a ticket.
